Welcome to Southwest Regional Human Services and Justice Coordinating Committee

 

The Southwest Regional Human Services and Justice Coordinating Committee is comprised of representatives from each of the 8 local committees in the region, and a  representative from the Southern Network of Specialized Care, the Ontario Provincial Police, and Court Services Division, Ministry of the Attorney General.

 

The SW HSJCC is dedicated to furthering the stated goal of the HSJCCs which is to:

 

“Coordinate resources and services, and plan more effectively for people who are in conflict with the law.  Priority consideration will be made for people with a serious mental illness, developmental disability, acquired brain injury, drug and alcohol addictions, and/or fetal alcohol spectrum disorder.”  (from May 2005 HSJCC Terms of Reference)

The SW HSJCC provides opportunities for service providers to come together to share knowledge, information, and best practices at regional conferences and learning events.  Southwest Region conferences have addressed topics including the intersection of corrections and human services, police services and the health and human services sectors, human services clients in the courts, and best practices for front-line providers.  The committee will continue to providing learning opportunities in the Southwest Region.
